The Science Behind Memory500™ - Synapsa™
Synapsa™ is a breakthrough new extract of a Bacopa monnieri, a tradition-honored
botanical used by herbalists of the Far East who observed its beneficial effects
on memory and mood centuries ago. Numerous scientific papers have been published
on Bacopa over the last few decades as researchers have tested its ability to
support cognitive function in both open-label and placebo-controlled clinical
trials. In six double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies, healthy
adults using Synapsa™ showed significantly improved performance in areas such as
visual processing, learning rate, working memory, information retention and
mental performance in cognitively demanding environments.*
Two Types of Use Supported By Studies
Studies show support for two distinct types of benefit from
Synapsa™ Memory Support: daily, long-term use (chronic) to enhance
learning and memory, and short-term use (acute) to improve mental performance in
cognitively demanding environments such as test-taking. In addition, the
majority of studies behind Synapsa™ have been conducted on healthy adult subjects
between age 18 and 65.*
Each serving of Memory500™ provides 320 mg of Synapsa™, the same amount given to research subjects in these published studies.
The most intriguing studies include:
A double-blind, placebo controlled trial in subjects 18 to 60 years of age
consuming 300 mg per day of Synapsa™ showed a statistically significant
improvement in speed of visual information processing, learning rate and memory
consolidation. A statistically significant reduction in the rate of forgetting
was also observed. (Stough C, Lloyd J, et al. The chronic effects of an extract
of Bacopa monniera (Brahmi) on cognitive function in healthy human subjects.

A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled 12-week trial demonstrated a
significant effect of Synapsa™ (300mg per day) on the retention of new
information by participants 40 to 65 years of age.(Roodenrys S, Booth D, et al.

In another randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled 90-day trial, 62
participants ages 18-60 who took 300 mg of Synapsa™ daily demonstrated a
statistically significant improvement in working memory, visual information
processing (sustained attention) and accuracy in complex cognitive tasks.
